2019 Elections: Anambra East And West Monarchs Agree On Consensus Candidates.

Traditional rulers of all the eighteen communities in Anambra East and West local government areas have stressed the need for selection of consensus candidates in the state in order to promote peace and harmony during the 2019 general elections in the country.

Rising from a crucial meeting at the palace of their chairman and traditional ruler of Igbariam Kingdom, Igwe N.N Kelly, the royal fathers however emphasized that such consensus candidates must be persons who have, through selfless service, endeared themselves to the masses.
They also said that such unanimously chosen candidates must be persons with the capacity to carry along all communities in their constituencies without fear or favour.
In a communiqué endorsed by the royal fathers they extolled the humanitarian disposition of the Special Adviser to the governor on Political Matters, Comrade Chinedu Obidigwe, pointing out that he has consistently, and without discrimination promoted the welfare of the people of the two local government areas and other parts of Anambra state, especially as it concerns the interests of youths and women.
The traditional rulers equally highlighted what they described as the uncommon courage and sacrifices made by Comrade Obidigwe in the political successes of Governor Willie Obiano, especially during the November 18, 2017 gubernatorial election in Anambra state.
In a remark, Igwe Kelly explained that their unflinching support for the Governor’s Political Adviser was based on what he described as “practical political realities, as well as Comrade Obidigwe’s verifiable achievements rather than emotions and sentiments.
