Have you ever fantasized about working with one of your favourite artists? In a brand new release from culturally distinctive pop star Amrit Ghatore, the London artist has collaborated on his new single with one of his all-time fans all the way from Nigeria! With the new music video for his latest single ‘Your Name’ out now, Amrit Ghatore has taken his music back into the studio, this time stepping up the game with an electronic pop anthem to keep the heat running for the end of an epic British summer!
Featuring in his new single, Nigerian rap artist Samzi initially got into contact with Amrit via Instagram, after following his #spreadtheliecampaign around the release of his previous hit single ‘lie’. Eager to share his music with fans across the globe, Amrit agreed to work together with Samzi to produce the new track. Creating a kick-ass song from two different sides of the planet, that’s surely not something you hear every day right? From this stringing-together of talents, ‘Your Name’ unveils a new-wave of electrifying pop.
Dishing out a fresh new style, ‘Your Name’ rises to deliver a dense, rhythmic beat, taking us away into a breeze of EDM sunshine. The music video for ‘Your Name’, set in a sun-drenched beachside town, screams of an indelicate, melodramatic midsummer romance. With a suave mix of pop and afrobeat R&B, Amrit’s new single stands up as a brand new direction for his music, something we can expect to see a lot more of from the British artist.
With an abstract and culturally diverse approach to his music, Amrit Ghatore stands out as a unique representative of his own culture, portraying his religious roots throughout his music and his image as a reflection of his own identity.
With an ever-growing fan base on social media, from both his music and his modelling career, Amrit Ghatore is the next top London act blurring the lines of modern culture and contemporary pop music. After performing at shows and in theatres across the county, from the Paul Robinson theatreto The Barbican, and the BBC, Amrit Ghatore is on his way to the top, taking on the music scene with his talents for production, his sincere British attitude, and of course his iconic turban.

Pusha T claims Drake’s longtime producer 40 leaked his baby news and it’s the ultimate betrayal

Published

on

The plot thickens between Drizzy, Ye and Pusha

Drake might owe Kanye West a serious apology.

It seems ‘Ye may not have been the blabbermouth who revealed Drizzy had a secret son after all. According to Pusha T, it was actually Drake’s close friend and longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib. Well, who saw that one coming? In May, Pusha T started his rap beef with Drake when he released a diss track revealing that Drake had become a first-time father secretly the previous year. Drake, 31, confirmed the surprising news on his latest album Scorpion and blamed Kanye, 41, for spilling the gossip as ‘Ye is close to Pusha.

In the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Pusha, 41, revealed the unprecedented plot twist that 40 may be the source of the leak. Pusha, real name Terrence Thornton, said: ‘The information came from 40, it didn’t come from Kanye at all. 40 is sleeping with a woman who he talks to daily, five or six hours a day, provides opportunity for her. ‘Ultimately speaks about how he’s disgruntled about certain things, notoriety and things involving Drake and his career.’ Pusha goes on to explain how the mystery woman was the one who shared details regarding Drake’s son.

Pusha T is spilling all the tea

The rapper continued: ‘With that also came the fact that Drake has a child, with that also came the trip that everybody took to go and see the child, bring him gifts and all of that. She divulged this information, that’s where it came from. ‘I never told anybody that, I never said that to anybody and I never put that out there because the way I see, there was so much power in silence. Number two, I was being spiteful.’ Referring to Kanye’s innocence, Pusha added: ‘What are you apologising for? You didn’t give me anything in regards to aiding in this drama.’

40 hasn’t responded to Pusha’s allegations yet however, it’s believed he still has a close relationship with Drake as he executive produced the rapper’s newest album Scorpion. The super producer is responsible for many of Drake’s hits over the last 10 years, including I’m On One, Take Care, F***in Problems, Started From The Bottom, Hold On We’re Going Home and One Dance.

Over 2034 set of twins participate in Oyo Twins festival

Published

on

About two thousand and thirty-four set of twins and tens of multiple births on Saturday converged in Igboora the capital of Ibarapa Central local Government area of Oyo State to participate in the maiden edition of the Oyo State Twins Festival.
Some of the set of twins from the Local Governments in Ibadan converged at the Cultural Centre in Ibadan as earlier as 7am to join the train to Igboora to join counterparts from Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa zones at the Methodist grammar school, Igbo-Ora, Oyo State.
The train from Ibadan was met at the entrance of Igboora-Ora town by the Local Government Officials and Traditional chiefs from the seven towns that make up Ibarapa where the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun laid the foundation of the twins tower to commemorate the festival.

In his address, Mr. Arulogun said that twins were invited from far and near to celebrate twins and multiple births from Igboora in commemoration of the Twins Festival, saying that the festival was a platform to showcase Igboora town with the unique feature of the highest rate of twins and multiple births in the world.
He said that the festival, organized in collaboration with Twins World Creations, Ibarapa Central Local Government, Igboora Progressive Union. and the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation, witnessed 2034 set of twins’ registration, adding that the attendance also covered tens of multiple births.
Arulogun said that the festival was aimed at placing Igboora on the World map as the World Highest twinning centre, saying that it was also an avenue to promote its predominant meal “Amala and Ilasa”, attributed as the cause of multiple births in the town.
He said that government’s effort will place the town and Oyo State in general on the World Map as the foremost twins’ tourism destination in the world, assuring that the state government would not relent in its drive to promote its tourism potentials.
In his address, the Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Habib Ibrahim disclosed that research affirms that Igboora alone can boast of One hundred and fifty eight (158) sets of twins for every one thousand life births, saying that available evidence attest to the fact that twins are born in Igbooraland more than anywhere else in the world.
He said, “A walk through the town can easily attest to this. There is no household without a history of at least a set of twins. This trend has made us not to see twin birth as a special phenomenon in Igboora, as it is elsewhere in the world.”
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers at the event, Oba Jamiu Badmus, the Olu-Aso of Iberekodo, who is also the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, called for the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders to sustain the festival, noting that efforts should be made to make it an international one towards making it a tourist event as a means of generating foreign exchange for Nigeria.

GirlForce:Today is the International Day of the Girl – This is 18: through girls’ eyes.

Published

on

Maryclare, center, poses for a family portrait with her mother, father and siblings.

Eighteen is an age. But it’s also something more. It’s a moment, a rite of passage, a gateway to adulthood in Nigeria.
In the United States, 18 means you can finally vote, sign a lease on an apartment, obtain a credit card and buy a Juul.
In China and parts of Canada, 18 grants you entrance to a pub, while for most Israelis, it means a mandatory draft into the military.

By 18, one in five women across the globe will be married. Millions will enter college or university.
“This is 18” aims to capture what life is like for girls turning 18 in 2018 across cities and cultures — in Lagos and Abuja, Enugu  and Benue, PH and the Okitipupa.

We’re thrilled to present #ThisIs18 — a look at girls’ lives, through Maryclare Chinedo eyes.

”first felt like a grown-up when my mom let me go to the after-prom party. My mom doesn’t let me go anywhere, at all. I would never be able to go to the parties my friends invited me to in high school, but she let me go to this one. I guess it’s because she knows that I’m 18 and I’ll be going to college soon.”

Q-Whom do you go to for advice?
A-I go to my friend Ikenna because I know he won’t judge me.

Q-What do you want to be doing in five years?
A-I want to have graduated with a STEM degree with a minor in art history. I’ll probably be in my first year of med school.

Q-What do you do when you’re bored?
A-Netflix, Netflix, Netflix. Right now I’m watching “The Vampire Diaries.” I just finished “The Office.”

Q-What’s one thing you’d like to learn?
A-I don’t know how to cook. When I was younger I was taught that I have to know how to cook for my husband and children and I don’t really like that. So I just didn’t want to learn how to cook at all. But now I think knowing how to cook is a good thing to have — not for a man or my kids but for myself.
