HON OBINNA EMENEKA AND HIS SURUGEDE DANCE AT ANAMBRA HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

Published

on

By Pius Machi Igwe

It is not a story that Hon Obinna Emeneka initially contested ASHA seat under PDP and was randomly defeated and he has to struggle and with lots of negotiations and Ghana Must Go exchanges he was given victory through the election tribunal. This victory was to be short-lived because Anambra State was under the control of APGA and the slot of State Assembly he occupies belongs to Umuoba Anam or Igbariam according to Anambra East zoning formula. The trickster and ungrateful lawmaker approached HE Willie Obiano and the leaders of APGA in Anambra East and pleaded that he should be allowed to decamp and contest under the platform. That request did not go down well with many party faithfuls because the party already has credible candidates that can defeat Hon Obinna in any free and fair election. However HE Willie Obiano out of his goodwill prevailed on the members to give Hon Obinna a fair share and support him to win which he subsequently won.

HIS 8YEARS OF IMPACTLESS REPRESENTATION:- It is on record that Hon Obinna being very stingy and selfish has refused to impact or empower any youth from his constituency for the period of 8years that he spent already at ASHA. The very negating act has made him very unpopular among the youths and many electorates. Hon Obinna Emeneka has refused to identify with elders, widows and traditional rulers from his constituency for the period of 8years. He has blatantly refused to identify with the grassroot voters. That was why he is being booed anytime he went on public function within and outside Nando his immediate community. It is on record that Hon Obinna concluded his 1st tenure without any youth empowerment and has no tangible project to account for even with all his 4years constituency allocations. He totally abandoned those that fought for his victory during the first and second tenure. When it become clear to him that he is losing popularity; and that his political future is foreseeably calamitous, toward the tail end of his 2nd tenure he started initiating cheap and substandard politically motivated projects here and there. This single deceptive move was frowned upon by many electorates and seeing that he will not be acceptable for any elective post he is fighting a lost battle to save his embattled political career.

USING HIS POSITION AT ASHA TO BLACKMAIL HIS WAY INTO ACCEPTANCE: – Recently Hon Obinna Emeneka stepped down one of governor’s nominee for TC Chairman Anambra East Local Govt in the person of Hon Cyril Okafor. He gave reason that there was a petition against Hon Cyril which is not made public but the truth was that Hon Cyril when he was nominated for Youth Leader APGA for Anambra East was stiffly opposed by Hon Obinna Emeneka who wanted to plant his own stooge as youth leader then. This was later resolved within the party but it is clear with what transpired in the ASHA yesterday that Hon Obinna has not forgiven his brother and constituent member Hon Cyril for winning the slot of APGA Youth Leader some years back. Now it is clear that there was no petition and even one existed it must have been masterminded by the embattled lawmaker who is fighting tooth and nail to save his drowning political career. Lest we forget also that Hon Obinna Emeneka did stepped down the name of Hon Chinedu Obidigwe in 2012 when he was nominated for the post of TC Chairman Anambra East because the later was not his supporter. Yesterday at the ASHA the same Hon Obinna Emeneka also rejected the nomination of Hon Awele Mmenkiti (A councilor representing Igbariam Ward) simply because the later refused to support his blind and fruitless ambitions for Anambra East and West Federal Constituency. This shows that Hon Obinna Emeneka never want anyone from his constituency to progress politically except himself. He has continued to take every slot that comes to Ndi Nando by his claim of IJELE. He turned his back on the youth and when they refused to support his ambition because of his neglect he will want to use his position to blackmail them into queuing behind him.

HON OBINNA EMENEKA IS OUT TO FIGHT THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR AND AGAINST APGA:- It should be noted that the appointment of TC Chairmen of Local Govt are the sole responsibility of the executive governor of the state. HE Chief Willie Obiano is from Anambra East Local Govt, the same constituency which Hon Obinna represents and the local govt which Hon Cyril Okafor and Hon Awele Mmenkiti were both nominated by the governor. All that state legislators does there is to confirm such appointments. In a state like Anambra where almost all the members even from APGA, it’s expected that there is an understanding and where there’s issues would be settled without public show but reverse was the case as Hon Obinna gang up few members to thwart the governor’s goodwill effort. It is now clear that Hon Obinna has openly shown his disdain and disapproval of the governor of the state. It was rumored during the last gubernatorial election that Hon Obinna Emeneka was secretly working against HE Willie Obiano and against APGA by secretly feeding the opposition with information but he failed as God guaranteed the governor 21/21 victory in the polls. It was also alleged that Hon Emeneka seriously supported Martins Agbaso’s camp during the legal tussle for APGA’s leadership and have given enough recourses to see that Agbaso win. From all indications the body language of Hon Obinna since Agbaso’s defeat shows that he is venting and likely to decamp back to PDP or APC where he comes from. Rejecting Hon Cyril Okafor indeed is a challenge that Hon Obinna threw at the governor of the state that he is capable of arrogating to himself Anambra East political power.

HON OBINNA EMENEKA IS A BRIDE OF APC DRESSED IN APGA REGALIA:- There is this saying that in every rumor there is some element of truth. APGA faithfuls from Anambra North have continued to cry foul on the continuous romance of Hon Obinna Emeneka with APC stalwarts. Since the allegation continued he has not denied it nor has his media goons. Lately it is clear that most of the media handlers that work for Obinna Emeneka are card carrying members of APC. They have continued to write on his behalf, defend him and attack those who oppose him on the online media. It is truth that two cannot walk or work together unless they agree which means that APC members cannot be defending and writing in favor of Hon Obinna Emeneka unless there is existing agreement which he is reliably honoring. It is indeed a politics of interest and Hon Obinna Emeneka is undoubtedly representing the interest of the opposition in the ASHA with hope that they will either give ticket if he could not secure same in APGA or support him if he wins APGA ticket! This is indeed a wakeup call to core APGA faithfuls to beware of the wolves in sheepskin within APGA who are waiting for any slight opportunity to betray the party. APGA delegates should beware of chameleonic characters within its ranks and files who are wearing APGA regalia outside with APC vests and undies. These pretenders will strive their way to collect APGA ticket, win election with the same but will decamp immediately they got to the National Assembly. The party should not give its tickets to these meandering and unstable characters if at all the party has need to grow and possibly take control of southeast political sphere. A word they say is enough for the wise!

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan on Tuesday, the PDP said the defection came at a time when “the nation requires the input of genuine patriots that will save it from an impending decline”.
It also said, “The PDP notes the harassment and intimidation that the duo of Senator Saraki and Governor Ahmed had suffered from the lords in the disintegrating All Progressives Congress (APC) which they helped to build and nurture to win elections.
“Senator Saraki, in particular, has conducted the affairs of the Senate in reflection of the wishes of the silent majority of Nigerians and had emerged a hero of democracy”.
The PDP, therefore, noted that it “has no doubts that Senator Saraki, Governor Ahmed and Alhaji Ibeto will contribute immensely to the new order that engender good governance in our nation”.
The party assured all the returning members of all the rights and privileges accruable to every member.
Furthermore, the PDP called on all Nigerians who are desirous of rescuing the nation from what it described as “the incompetent administration of President Buhari”, to join them ahead of the 2019 elections.
